Graduate education is an important investment for both the student and the community. Graduate education enables students to enter new career fields with more choices as to their work assignments. It provides enrichment and a deeper understanding of a chosen field. Educated employees improve the quality of life in the State of Florida. The cost of this investment is very reasonable.
A student’s basic expenses at the university will be for tuition, course-related fees, textbooks, other instructional supplies, room and board, and miscellaneous items.
The Graduate Catalog has a description of the tuition and fees for graduate students, information concerning student loans, college work study, assistantship opportunities and tuition waivers as well as information about available fellowships.
This section contains more detailed information about the fellowship opportunities available at the University of Central Florida as well as information and links to internet search sites for other fellowship opportunities.

- Step one in the application process for ALL fellowships is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To file your FAFSA electronically, go to FAFSA EXPRESS.
Please Note: Fellowships are a type of financial aid. For this reason, total financial aid received (which includes fellowships, loans, waivers, third party payments, etc.) cannot exceed the student's budget or cost of attendance. A student's budget or cost of attendance is determined by factors such as housing, hours enrolled, residency, and class level.
Per federal regulations, when any type of need-based financial aid is awarded, then the GROSS NEED as established by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process cannot be exceeded. If this occurs, awards will be reduced or deleted.
