Commencement at the UCF Arena

Spring 2014 Commencement

Spring 2014 Commencement will be held at the UCF Arena on Thursday, May 1, 2014 to Saturday, May 3, 2014. 

Each candidate who participates in the commencement ceremonies will receive up to five (5) tickets for guests. The schedule is based on the maximum seating capacity and number of participants at each ceremony.

Ceremony Schedule Information

Thursday, May 1, 2014

Arena doors will open for guests approximately 90 minutes before each ceremony begins.

Morning Ceremony - Graduate candidates should plan to arrive at the UCF Arena at least 70 minutes before the processional begins. (The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours.) 

9:00 a.m. (Procession of graduates begins at 8:40 a.m.)

  • College of Engineering and Computer Science

Afternoon Ceremony - Graduate candidates should plan to arrive at the UCF Arena at least 70 minutes before the processional begins. (The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours.) 

2:30 p.m. (Procession of graduates begins at 2:10 p.m.

  •    Ticket Information

    • Each graduate candidate will receive up to five (5) guest tickets. Students will receive tickets with a cap and gown order.

      UCF Orlando Campus

      Orlando campus students do not order tickets; tickets are picked up during the ticket-pickup window at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore @ UCF located next to the CFE Arena. A photo ID will be required for pick-up. 

      Doctoral candidates and platform party guests, please pick up your tickets from the Office of Constituent Relations, MH Room 396. Their office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Questions can be directed to the Office of Constituent Relations at 407-823-3802.

      UCF Regional Campus

      Regional campus candidates will order and pick up tickets at their area campus (Daytona Beach, Palm Bay, Cocoa, and Ocala only).

      Daytona Beach candidates should contact the Administrative Services Office (Building 140, room 105) for tickets; Cocoa and Palm Bay campus candidates should contact the BCC Bookstore. If a candidate from a regional campus misses the order period, the tickets will remain at the Orlando campus for pick-up until the end of the pick-up period. Students from all other regional campuses must pick up tickets at the Orlando campus. Note: Rosen College of Hospitality Management guest tickets will be available at the Rosen College Bookstore.

      Extra Commencement Tickets

      Extra tickets are not guaranteed.

      Candidates can request extra tickets through the Commencement Ticket Lottery, which is found under 'Other Academic…' within the myUCF Student Center during normal ticket pick-up times. 

      Up to five (5) extra Commencement guest tickets may be requested by participating graduates who have an Intent to Graduate approved by the college of the student's major by the withdrawal deadline of the current term. Lottery results will be emailed to the student's campus e-mail address after the normal ticket pick-up window. Winners of extra tickets will need to claim their tickets in person at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at UCF next to the Arena. Lottery winners forfeit any tickets not picked up. Any forfeited tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis at the UCF Arena Box Office prior to each Commencement ceremony.

      Unable to Pick Up Tickets

      Candidates unable to pick up tickets (regular or extra) may designate a third party to do so by providing them with a letter authorizing UCF to release the tickets during the appropriate times listed above. Letters must include name of person designated to pick up tickets, the candidate's name, UCF ID, college of major and signature, and must be presented at the time of ticket pick up along with the student's photo ID.

      Simulcast Locations

      Guests who do not have tickets for CFE Arena seating will have the opportunity to view a live telecast of the ceremony via closed circuit television at the Fairwinds Alumni Center, the Student Union and on Campus Cable Channel 21. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The sign language interpreter is visible on the live telecast screen. The simulcast viewing is not closed captioned.

      Graduate candidates participating in the University of Central Florida Commencement Ceremony are required to wear the official UCF regalia available exclusively through the UCF Bookstores and online through Herff Jones.

      All rented items are due back by 5:00 p.m. on Graduation Day.

  •    Diploma Distribution and Transcript Requests

    • Diplomas will be mailed approximately 6 to 10 weeks after the commencement ceremony to the address indicated on the student's Intent to Graduate form. Students who have changed their address should contact the College of Graduate Studies at graddegr@ucf.edu by May 1, 2014. The College of Graduate Studies cannot guarantee proper delivery of diplomas for address changes after this date. Questions can be directed to the College of Graduate Studies at 407-823-4132. Diplomas cannot be released if the student has a nonacademic hold. It is the student's responsibility to resolve holds as quickly as possible.

      Student Account Services and the Registrar's Office will notify students of any outstanding financial obligations prior to the Commencement ceremony. All financial obligations must be met in order to receive a diploma and official transcripts.

      Transcript requests may be made through the Registrar’s Office.
