Supplemental Assignment

A full graduate assistantship is 20 hours per week in fall or spring. (Students are assumed to be involved in their courses the other 20 hours per week during spring and fall terms.) If a hiring department wishes to appoint a student for total hourly commitments that extend beyond a full assistantship, it must request an exception for the student using the Supplemental Assignment Form. Approval is required from the student’s academic program, thesis/dissertation faculty adviser (if applicable), college office, and the College of Graduate Studies. The student must be performing well academically and be making progress toward their degree.
