Graduate Life at UCF

Graduate school is a big commitment. But do you really know how much your hard work and perseverance can pay off?

The latest Census Bureau study shows that people with a bachelor’s degree earn an average of $2.74 million over the course of their working lives. However, individuals who earn a master’s degree are expected to earn $3.34 million, and those with a doctoral education will earn $4.45 million during their working lives.

What is life like for graduate students at UCF? Our students enjoy a rich blend of academics, research, culture and fun. UCF’s 1,415-acre campus provides a safe and serene setting for learning while modern, new facilities house the latest in technology and innovation.

The Graduate Student Association provides a voice for graduate students across campus. GSA’s events and programs provide opportunities for collaboration and friendships across disciplines.

UCF’s Recreation and Wellness Center includes 85,000 square feet of fitness and cardio space, an indoor track, four basketball courts, three group exercise rooms, and a 41-foot climbing wall. Additional student recreation facilities include an outdoor lap pool, resort-style leisure pool, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, a disc golf course, softball fields, the Lake Claire recreation area (picnic facilities, watercraft, nature trail) and a variety of multipurpose athletic fields.

UCF offers a wide variety of entertainment options for graduate students including Theatre UCF, art galleries, symphony performances, Conference USA Football played in our very own 45,000-seat Bright House Stadium and a brand new 10,000 seat arena for concerts, events and Men's and Women's basketball games. All this is in addition to the abundance of activity found in central Florida including theme parks, night life, beaches, golf, and so much more.

Originally Florida Technological University, the name changed to UCF in 1978 to reflect the mission of what is now a thriving, multi-campus university, with more than 50,000 students.
