Applying to Graduate School
Now that you've made the giant leap to attend Graduate School at UCF you will need to know a few items before applying. Please review these few simple steps below before you begin. Good luck! All applications to UCF must be submitted online. Please review the application deadlines for your program in the Graduate Catalog. To apply online visit www.graduate.ucf.edu/gradonlineapp/. Our current application fee is $30 (you can pay online or by calling 407-823-5353.
You should request transcripts from all previously attended schools. All transcripts must be official and delivered in a sealed envelope. If you are UCF alumni, your transcripts will be requested automatically. International students must also submit degree certificates along with English translations if they received their education from any institutions outside of the United States.
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) may be required for admission. Please review your program requirements to detemine if the GRE or GMAT is required. Official test scores must be received directly from Educational Testing Services (ETS).
For programs that require an Essay or Goal Statment, be sure to submit it online with your application. For more information on writing your essay or goal statement, please visit the University Writing Center.
When writing your resume, be sure to include such items as research conducted and volunteer work, in addition to any work experience.
Most programs will require recommendation letters to be submitted. It is a good idea to request recommendation letters from such individuals as faculty, supervisors, and/or mentors.
To be considered for financial support at UCF, you will need to submit your online graduate application early. All students who apply by the priority deadline will be considered for most UCF fellowships and assistantships if they are admitted. For fellowships that require an application, please visit the UCF Fellowships section of this website.
You can check the status of your application anytime online, at https://my.ucf.edu. Please be aware that our office processes thousands of applications each semester and it can take two to three weeks for files to be updated. If you still have questions, you can also contact the department to which you have applied.
